The copper in these earrings is colored using a special patina process and then the color is sealed with lacquer and wax. While the coating is quite durable, it can be abraded or scratched. These earrings should not be left in very hot temperatures or submerged in hot water or lacquer thinner. They can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.
