Early Universe Necklace`

This is what I imagine the universe looked like sometime after the big bang. It was a time of potential and new beginnings. The necklace consists of two copper disks with enamel in a handcrafted sterling setting, which also includes a brass watch gear and a faceted yellow sapphire.

I made the large disk by sifting enamel through a stencil and fired it. I then applied a sheet of 24K gold foil and fired it again. the gold foil burned out over the areas that were bare copper and fired into the enamel.
